Emmy Lou Harris and Rodney Crowell present “Old Yellow Moon”
This may well be the greatest pairing since Alison Krauss and Robert Plant’s Raising Sand.
A collection of timeless duo’s between the magnificent Emmy Lou Harrisand her rhythm guitarist, turned solo superstar, Rodney Crowell.
The album, recorded in Music City, boasts a seriously vintage country/folk turned California style - it’s somber and soulful and an all around great record.
Highlights include “Open Season on my Heart” which was previously recorded by Tim Mcgraw, and the Matraca Berg cut, “Back When We Were Beautiful”
This song is going to piss a lot of people off. And set a whole lot more free.
Country music, can you handle what Kacey Musgraves is thrown’ down?!
So make lots of noise kiss lots of boys but kiss lots of girls if that’s something you’re into when the straight and narrow gets a little too straight roll up a joint (or don’t) and follow your arrow wherever it points
Caitlin Rose is back with a brand new LP that will be released on March 5. The Nashville artist says that The Stand-In was inspired by the “motherfuckers who leave whenever they feel like it.”
Welp it looks like the Major Lazer album has been pushed back to an undetermined release date. However, in order to apologize to the fans they have posted a new mixtape, Strikes Back Volume 1.
“We never want to disappoint our supporters but circumstances out of our control have made us unable to keep the intended date. For anyone disappointed, we are truly apologetic and we promise that this hiccup has only made what we have planned for the album stronger. We tried extremely hard to keep the date but it was ultimately decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to you and everyone who worked so hard on it.”
Country music is no longer for the faint of heart. And we love it. Case and point: “Weed instead of Roses” by miss Ashley Monroe.
If you’re into this new wave of progressive country women, you’ve gotta hear this one. It’s about as risqué as the market will allow. Among the “high” points are references to bondage, drugs, sex and alcohol. It’s the last thing you’d expect to hear from one of the sweetest voices in country music, but hey, they don’t call her Hippie Annie for nothing.
Ashley’s second studio album,”Like a Rose,” comes out this Tuesday, featuring this song and several others. Pre-order it here!
Maggie Rose is slowin’ it down and stirring it up. And it’s only getting ‘better.’
Check out the follow up to her top 40 hit, “I Ain’t Your Mama,” and the 2nd release from her debut album, “Cut to Impress” - hitting stores errrywhere March 26th.
“Better” is the 3rd most added song this week, so you’ll be hearing it out there in the not so distant future.
The Cadillac Three, formerly The Cadillac Black is a Music City rooted country/rock trio consisting of Jaren Johnston Kelby Ray, and Neil Mason.
The guys have been blowing up the scene here in town, collectively penning songs for major artists like Tim McGraw, Sara Evans and Keith Urban, and then some, packing the house at all the local hot spots, and having their songs placed on national TV shows. And you’ll be hearing a wholeee lot more in the near future.
“We’re excited to be a part of the Big Machine Label Group and to have found a team that supports the music we’ve been making and playing across the country. We think it is a match made in ‘country fuzz heaven’ for three guys born and raised in Music City.”
Ford Community Day is back at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and they’re ringing it in with a day full of music and museum madness.

Keith Urban/ Jake Owen fans! Check out this feel good orignal tune by Nashville singer/songwriter Sammy Arriaga.
At only 20 years old, and 2 years in the biz, Sammy has written recorded and performed with the biggest and best players in the industry. Not to mention the fact that he’s a crazy/amazing writer and vocalist himself, and not to mention the fact that he’s unsigned.
